www.BuildingAChickenCoop.com is a website that sells an e-book with multiple chicken coop plans for less than $30. Below, you'll find a picture of the large premium chicken coop that holds up to fifty chickens. Fifty chickens might be a little much for some of our readers! No worries! They have other choices that accommodate flocks of five and flocks of ten. They have a chicken coop arc and the large chicken coop arc. Click through on one of the links to check out pictures. Ultimately, we think this e-book is great for the people who are trying to investigate what they want to do. There are some great looking and functional chicken coops included with this purchase. Sometimes, however, you really don't know what you want to do until you consider the time and money required to build the various options. For example, you may want a twenty-five chicken flock, but take a look at the large premium coop, calculate your feed costs, and decide to go with a flock of six. Or, who knows, you may decide, that's it? That's all it cost! I'm going to raise 100 chickens. Everyone is different with there situation. One of the reasons that we review this chicken coop is for the variety and diversity of the information provided. In addition to the building a coop e-book, there are several other freebies that are included with the purchase.
Building a Chicken Coop provides the following informational guides with the $29.95 purchase:

Converticoop is another website design around a single set of chicken coop plans. These plans cost $19.99 and take advantage of the a-frame. It's ironic because the a-frame is a common shelter used in survival situations. It's as quick as taking a piece of wood or a stick, burying one end in the ground and elevating the other end on something handy like a tree stump or fallen down tree. Then, you just throw a tarp, branches, leaves or whatever you have over it. Of course, for your chicken coop, we recommend going and buying some lumber! Ultimately, I guess the point is that the a-frame is an efficient design which will help lower your lumber bill when you do have to go to the lumber store. This is another one of those chicken coops where, if you like the design and you want a small flock of 4-5 chickens, this set of plans will work for you. There's some cost savings with the a-frame design. The a-frame design will also require some angled cuts so you will need a miter box or miter saw. But, like we said, if you like this chicken coop design and you want a small flock of less than 5 chickens, you should go for it.

GreenRoofChickenCoop.com is a niche product in the market of chicken coops. Currently, they only have the original chicken coop that houses 2-4 chickens but they do have a modification that can be provided on request that will expand the chicken coop up to 6 chickens comfortably. The modification changes the design from a cube (4ft x 4ft x 4ft) to a rectangular cuboid (6ft x 4ft x 4ft). We only know about this modification because we asked about it. Also, the do claim to be working on a variety of green roof chicken coops that house up to 15 chickens. We asked if they planned on making even bigger structures (since their plans were designed by an architect), and they said, "Sure, but it's not in works at this time." They noted that they were currently catering to the back yard chicken coop market and believe that people getting into larger flocks of 25 or more are working more towards a small farm. They're just taking it one step at a time! One step at a time is exactly how the instructions are written, truly step-by-step and very detailed. The instructions for this one chicken coop are almost 60 pages including cut lists and shopping lists. They are well thought out and following these instructions page by page is the quickest way to get this chicken coop up and running. If you're looking for a small back yard chicken coop, you should swing by and take a look at this chicken coop. Picture below... just click through one of the links to get to their website.

www.DiyChickenCoops.com is a free informational resource. Everyone should take a look and see what they have to say. The website is written to get you thinking about raising chickens. We think that's the first big decision and the most difficult one. Should you or shouldn't you raise chickens? This website does a great job of walking you through that thinking process. We've mentioned to them that they should go into a little more detail and discuss the types of chicken breeds, list out the various food supplies and get diagnosis of potential disease. They said, "it's in the works!" They do review a few chicken coops but so far they've only reviewed the Green Roof Chicken Coop and the Converticoop. Overall, they seem to be more of an informational resource. They also have the biopod for sale which is more than an interesting concept and a great way to generate free high quality food for your chickens. You just have to get over "growing worms". If you can do that, you'll be able to compost your vegetable scraps and even meat scraps in less than a week. The byproducts are the worms and the compost tea. You can feed the worms to your chickens and use the compost tea to fertilize your garden all the while reducing your household waste. Green Living!
